Jay-Z x Drake – Light Up [Video]

2009 wasn’t the year for underground Hip-Hop. 2009 was the year of Drake. The track “Forever” was quite probably the highlight of the year, and Drake is set to continue to increase his profile in 2010. MTV News caught up with Drake and he spoke about the collaborative effort on the Jay-Z track “Light Up”. The track is produced by Tone Mason and each artist has 32 bars on the track. What’s more, it appears that Drake had recorded two additional verses for Jay-Z‘s the Blueprint 3 album which didn’t make the cut. Whether we will hear the music next year is in question, depending on who actually owns the verses. You can watch the Drake interview with MTV on the Jay-Z track “Light Up” below.

It’s only a short interview from Drake, but I am interested to hear the tracks that didn’t make it to Blueprint 3. I wonder who owns the rights to the music? Drake may release them seperately or Jay-Z might use them for a next album. I can’t see them being used for a mixtape though.
