Previous | Paul Walker Dies Aged 40
By David Bosworth – @boz_worth
#HHKMovies has learnt of the untimely passing of The Fast and Furious actor Paul Walker. Paul was leaving an event for his own disaster charity Reach Out Worldwide with a friend as a passenger in the Porsche involved in the accident. Paul and the driver both lost their lives after the car, driven by his friend, collided with a lamp post and became ablaze. Emergency services responded to the incident, but both were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Here is a statement from the Paul Walker Facebook page:
Paul, better known for his central role in The Fast and The Furious franchise, playing ex FBI agent-turned street racer Brian O’Conner opposite Vin Diesel’s Dominic Torreto and most recently WWE turned action star Dwayne Johnson. The franchise began in 2001 and has spanned 12 years and 6 box office hits. The latest release in the series, Fast and Furious 6, being the biggest hit yet. Filming for the seventh installment has been ongoing since Summer with #HHKMovies sharing this picture from Vin Diesel’s Facebook page back in September.
Here is my favourite Paul Walker quote-
” I live by ‘Go big or go home.’ That’s with everything. It’s like either commit and go for it or don’t do it at all. I apply that to everything. I apply that to relationships, I apply that to like sports, I apply that to everything. That’s what I live by. That’s how I like it.”
Paul, as well as being an accomplished actor and producer, was also a philanthropist and charity giver. Being involved so passionately in charity, Paul set up natural-disaster response charity Reach Out Worldwide.
“Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW) – consisting of skilled volunteers – is a non-profit registered 501(c)3 organization. While part of a relief team responding to the massive earthquakes that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010; Actor/Producer Paul Walker saw a gap between the availability of skilled resources and the requirement for such personnel in post-disaster situations. Following the trip he contacted a group of his friends to assist him in forming ROWW with the purpose of filling this unmet need.
ROWW is a network of committed professionals with first responder skill-set (including project management, logistics, heavy equipment operation, EMT, paramedic, firefighting, and healthcare, etc). The volunteers provide their expertise when disasters strike and augment local resources with the goal of accelerating relief efforts on a worldwide basis. ROWW has developed Standard Operating Procedures that facilitate arriving quickly, clearing access, providing basic necessities and medical assistance to ease the survivors’ pain and bringing hope in the bleakest of circumstances.”
Most recently, they have responded to Typhoon Haiyan that devastated the Philippines. Throughout the years the charity has helped thousands of people, saved countless lives and revived communities.
Both Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson took to Twitter to share their sadness and pay their respects to their co-star and their friend, the gone but never forgotten Paul Walker. With Facebook and Twitter communities saddened at his passing with #RIPPaulWalker trending worldwide.
The Hours was one of the last finished projects by Paul Walker and sees him as a father trying to keep his daughter alive in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The Hours will be released Dec, 2013.
Brick Mansions, where Paul plays an undercover cop, was another. To be released 2014.
We are still to find out what will be of his involvement of Fast and Furious 7.
We at HHKMag offer our condolences and thoughts to his family and friends during this heart-breaking time.
GFX by David Bosworth (@Boz_Worth)
Everybody knows we’re huge WWE and Movies fans, so it made perfect sense for the first “Mash Up” to be a combination of the WWE and the recently-released “Thor: The Dark World”. Our resident movie reviewer, GFX designer and all-around good guy @Boz_Worth created a brand new poster which integrated the two, and highlights the currently storyline of “The Authority” (Triple H / Stephanie McMahon) as the center focus replacing Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Natalie Portman (Jane Foster). Let us know what you think by using the Hashtag #HHKMovies on Twitter, and look out for more HHK Mash-Up’s in the future.

Previous | Who Will Be The New Batman?
Now is the time for the relative masses to don attire that they consider scary, but sexy enough that they’ll pull but not get humped to death by an unsightly zombie. Yes townsfolk, it’s Halloween. Or as we at HHK HQ like to refer to it ‘HHKalloween’…yes, terrible I know. To cover this years fright fest we thought we’d delight and fright(en) you with a shortlist of the superior and the sinister Hip Hop Horrors (Hurray!).
1. Seed of Chucky(2004) with Redman
2. Bones(2001) with Snoop Dogg
3. Halloween: Resurrection(2002) with Busta Rhymes
4. Leprechaun in the Hood(2000) with Ice-T
5. Tales from the Hood(1995)
Remember folks, if you get laid on Halloween, wear a mask and have protection, like a machete or something! What else should be included in the Hip-Hop Horror’s list? Tweet us @HHKMag

Previous | “This Is The End” Review
Welcome back film fans! What a past couple of weeks its been here at HHKMovies with the announcement of a Batman/Superman movie crossover for 2015. It’s not only us who are wondering who’d don the cowl of The Dark Knight, but it has got our curious cogs turning as to how this is going to open up a Warner Bros. DC Comics Universe!
Now. For the money shot. Who’s in our Top 5 for Gotham’s favourite vigilante?
As we continue to re-brand from Hip-Hop Kings to HHKMag, the increased focus on the Movie world is one of our biggest priorities. A perfect opportunity presented itself at Comic Con this year for the first movie editorial to be published on the website written by yours truly. You’ll usually see David Bosworth or Joe Langham cover the editorials and film reviews, however I wanted to share my personal thoughts so please let me know in the comments below whether you agree!

Welcome back film fans to this week’s #HHKMovies Exclusive review for “This is the End” (@thisistheend) and a big thanks to the guys over at Total Film (@totalfilm) and ShowFilmFirst (@showfilmfirst) for the hook up.
Ever wondered what these Hollywood actors get up to when the cameras stop rolling? When the red carpets rolled up and the fans finally leave the street, go home and masturbate over the pictures they’ve took and Photoshopped? Yeah, me too (not the masturbating of course….that’s just weird)!
Well, Seth Rogen’s apocalyptic spoof confirms that they all get hammered, smoke J’s, do coke and smack Rihanna’s ass! Sounds like a party eh? Perfect timing, seeing as Seth Rogen (Knocked Up)’s best friend Jay Baruchel (Tropic Thunder) is in town and he wants his Hollywood buds to bond with his Canadian brother. Queue James Franco (127 Hours) and his huge monstrosity of a house, a slightly feminine Jonah Hill (Superbad), panty-removing obsessed Craig Robinson (Zack & Miri) and party crashing “I’ll eat all your motherf*cking food” douche Danny McBride (Your Highness) being the crowd Jay doesn’t want to be a part of. He might not have a choice though as all hell breaks loose on LA’s streets and people get sucked up (I said up) and the ridiculously impressive cast of party going extras die off! What can they do other than to barricade themselves in with drugs, liquor and porn?!
Plenty of laughs fill up most of this film with Hollywood finally being able to hit the G Spot of the spoof and comedy fans harder than Emma Watson’s axe swinging arms! The best spoof from Hollywood since “Scary Movie”…..and that was 2000.

Set Phasers to Fun…I mean Stun
Welcome back film fans to this weeks HHKMovies Review. This week we look at Star Trek Into Darkness. The second installment in the Sci Fi franchise from J.J. Abrams(Super 8, Star Trek) beaming back the crew of the Enterprise under the questionable leadership of wild and reckless Cpt. Jim Kirk played by Chris Pine(This Means War) and his half-human half-vulcan 2nd in command Mr Spock. This voyage of Star Fleet’s finest ship takes them beyond anything they’ve experienced before. Beyond what they thought they were capable of and beyond the directives of Star Fleet Exploration! With Alice Eve(She’s Out of My League) having made her way onto the crew of the Starship we’re treated to something that the die hard Trekkies will make sure they get use of….but she wasn’t invited on the ship!
Abrams brings us this installment after listening to alot of feedback and critique from fans of the original series and he doesn’t disappoint. Into Darkness is a feast for the eyes and with a strong cast leading from the original, you really engage with key characters and want to be part of their journey. Queue Benedict Cumberbatch(Sherlock) as mystery man “John Harrison” who is more of an anomoly than why Cpt. Kirk hasn’t caught an STD yet. I’ve got to say though that Cumberbatch has to get special mention in this review for his role in portraying the bad guy here. I’m not going to give away any spoilers for those of you who haven’t yet seen the movie. But, yes. If you’re a Trek fan. Yes, it’s him. That’s all I’m saying though!
Into Darkness is the BEST movie of the year so far. With fantastic and rich visuals, layered characters and relationsips that pull you in and make you feel everything they do, Academy Award strong acting, spaceships, boobs, stuff blowing up and Klingons. You can’t get much more closer to perfect than that little checklist of what makes great Sci Fi.
Definitely 5 out of 5.

“When Our Flag Falls, Our Nation will rise”…..
With a tagline like this you get a pretty good idea about how this movie will play out and you’re not far out! Antoine Fuqua(Training Day) brings us the flag flying, salute giving, bald eagle on bicep tattooing “Olympus Has Fallen”. The story of what happens when the White House is taken and who in Gods Free Land can take it back? Mike Banning of course! Mike Banning is THE ex secret service agent and bad ass mother fudger who works at the Treasury, of all places. Why? Because of a horrific accident involving President Ben Asher, who demoted Mike and left him to wallow at a desk. Gerard Butler(300) leads an impressive cast including Aaron Eckhart(The Dark Knight) and Morgan Freeman(Shawshank Redemption) in this action fueled and politically dangerous movie.
America sees its monuments fall and its White House alight when all hell steps foot on Washington’s streets. With little time to react the nation can’t fathom the idea that the safest building in the country is under siege! Who is responsible? How will they get it back? Who is in charge when both the President and the Vice President are taken hostage? These are legitimate questions for anything other than the ‘One-Man Army’ action genre. You can’t expect suspense and thrills when King Leonidas is the leading man. When you go in with the knowledge that this is Die Hard at The White House you will enjoy this movie much more.
To expect twists and turns and who-done-its will only leave you with a bad taste in your mouth after this movie. You like explosions, cliche one liners and some foreign dudes getting blown away then this is for you! Just sounds like a synopsis for “Die Hard” right? Yep that’s this, just with better CGI. Oh yeah, by the way, its the North Koreans…

Anyone remember Scary Movie 4? Nope. Me neither. What about Scary Movie 3? The one with Leslie Nielsen as the President and there’s the aliens in the field from ‘Signs’? Struggling to place that one as well Okay. You MUST remember Scary Movie 2 then? Come on, the one with the turkey dinner stuffed with ‘penis’ and vagini’s', served with the small hand! You remember now? You’ll remember the original then. The one that spawned all the aforementioned sequels both good and bad.
Scary Movie 5 falls into the latter category of ‘Bad’! In fact it probably falls into its own category of ‘The Good(1 & 2), The Bad(3 & 4) and the Ugly(5)’ which is why this review was needed to warn the masses that the horror spoof genre has died a gruesome death!

Over the past few years companies like Universal and Warner Bros have tried and failed in their attempts at “re-imagining” the classic children s tale. Now, in my eyes you either get Quentin Tarantino in to rip the face off it or you go home. You don’t mess with Disney! They ran that shit! Let’s have a look over them shall we?
