J57 also released “Elite Status” which featured Rasheed Chappell and DJ Brace, and Hip-Hop Kings managed to speak with Brown Bag AllStars Soul Khan and Koncept during their UK tour in an exclusive interview. Following the news that Illus is releasing his album “Family First” (download link above), a new video has been released by Illus titled “The Gift”. With guest appearances from the likes of Blueprint and Ill Bill amongst others, Illus describes the importance of family and what really matters in life. Illus uses footage of his new-born son, along with tributes from the aforementioned artists over the DJ Johnny Juice produced track. There’s not a better way than start promotion to a solo project than releasing a snippet of a song which features the legendary MF Doom. Enter Oh No, the man responsible for a number of high profile collaborations in the past (The Alchemst / Roc Marciano) to name a couple, has a track titled “3 Dollars” which is the first official release to the forthcoming “Ohnomite”. Available from 5th June 2012, Ohnomite features guest appearances from Evidence, Guilty Simpson, Chino XL, Termanology and MF Doom of course. That’s not a type, Akira The Don (ATD) is a cartoonist, producer, rapper, supreme blogger and video maker, and the new thirteen track mixtape is his latest release in a highly impressive discography. Fans can look out for the tribute to Beastie Boys rapper MCA on the track “Too Sweet to be Sour” and my personal favourite “Lemmings” which samples the old Amiga game music. J57 has teamed ip with Rasheed Chappell and DJ Brace who did the cuts, on the J57 produced track which already has the support of all the major blogs including 2DopeBoyz and Okayplayer. Hip-Hop Kings previously posted the collaborative track with Brown Bag AllStars label mate Koncept called “Pulp Fiction” and we may possibly see one more leak prior to the EP releases on May 22nd.
