Dame Dollaz Hip-Hop Kings Interview Feature

HHK: Thanks for speaking to us Dame Dollaz, for the fans who may not be aware can we have a brief introduction please?

DD: Yeah no doubt. My name Dis ame Dollaz, I’m from Toledo, OH by way of Flint, MI and I rep that #nopressure #nodiamonds/no sketch crew. I’m about everything that’s real Hip-Hop. I came to get busy and make the best music possible for Hip-Hop heads and show you how the Midwest get down.

HHK: You recently put out a mixtape with D.J Logikal called “The Wipe Out”. How did you and DJ Logikal meet? And who had the idea for the mixtape?

DD: Me and DJ Logikal met through my homeboy Mike Flamez. I was recording a song with Flamez, we were smoking out after and we just clicked. As far as “The Wipeout” goes though, those were all my first records I ever made. Shit’s so real I recorded those in my homeboy Benny K’s backyard shed. So in preparation to promote “The Wipeout 1.5 f.a.m.e edition”, DJ Logikal threw it together to show the fans my growth and introduce them to me.

Here is the exclusive interview with Waka Flocka Flame for Hip-Hop Kings.

Thanks for speaking to us man. You’re currently in the process of releasing your single “No Hands” which features Roscoe Dash and Wale. How did the collaboration come about?

WFF – I was in a regular studio session with Roscoe Dash and Drummer Boy. Wale had a session at the same studio with Gucci. He came in to introduce himself and I told him I had a song for him. Then the magic began.

Are you surprised that it’s reached the 28 million YouTube views mark which is a big accomplishment?

WFF – I wasn’t surprised it reached 28 million, I was just shocked that it happened so fast!

Was there any specific reason to primarily work with Lex Lugar for the production?

WFF – I wanted to break my new producer. I wanted to introduce him to the world. Next up is Southside.

Who had the idea to create “Brick Squad”?

WFF – Bricksquad came from Gucci

Apart from yourself who do you think is the best artist both lyrically and musically from the group?

WFF – I consider all of my artists and producers on my label Bricksquad Monopoly the best

The group “Desperados” is well known within the Hip Hop world, can you confirm any detail on a forthcoming album or mixtape?

WFF – Keep following me on twitter to find out @wakaflockabsm

Where can fans check for new updates on the music? And what mixtapes and videos have you got in the upcoming months?

WFF – They can follow me on twitter @wakaflockabsm, go to mizayentertainment.com, or go to wakaflocka1017.com. I have a mixtape out called, “Salute me or Shoot me 3″ Look out for my video for my single,”Groove Street Party”

Joell Ortiz

Joell Ortiz

During a recent trip to Manchester I met and interviewed Joell Ortiz during his live performance at the Ruby Lounge on March 9th. I caught up with Joell Ortiz and asked him about the best parts of being with Shady Records than E1 (more money of course) and the plan of releasing the Slaughterhouse album which will hopefully be available later in 2011. I then ask Joell Ortiz about his plans for the rest of the year, and of course what he thought of the U.K Hip-Hop artists (he’s collaborating with Mic Righteous) and the Manchester crowd. You can watch the Joell Ortiz interview with Hip-Hop Kings on the video player below.

Here is the full interview with U.K Hip-Hop artist Rewd Adams which was directed before his live performance at Brixton Jamm to celebrate the release of his latest album “Rewd Awakening”. I reviewed Rewd Awakening and still stand by the opinion it was one of the top three U.K Hip-Hop albums that have been released in the last six months. I speak to Rewd Adams about his personal favourite tracks on the album, his musical direction in 2011, and of course the challenges of changing his name from Skandal to Rewd Adams. Check out the YouTube page for more interviews, and you can read the Hip-Hop Kings review of Rewd Adams – Rewd Awakening on the link above. Hip-Hop Kings Interview with DJ Logikal

HHK: Thanks for speaking to us Logikal. For the U.K readers can we have a brief introduction please?

DJ Logikal: Ohio’s #1 mixtape DJ. You’ve just tuned into the streets!

HHK: What is your definition of a mixtape?

DJ Logikal: In my opinion, it’s a compilation of new, upcoming music from upcoming artists or new music in general it’s not too much about what’s on radio at that given point in time.

HHK: You’re widely regarded as the number one Mixtape DJ in Ohio. How long have you been putting out mixtapes? And can you remember the first mixtape you released?
