.. gotta go with Splinter Cell personally ..

.. I know they're both stealth games and therefore not gonna be fast paced or action packed .. and both have their pros n cons .. but I found the MGS games to be pretty borin .. graphics were shit hot (altho so are the graphics on SC) .. I'd say SC had more gameplay hours too .. cos the bulk of time spent playin MGS is filled with stupid FMV .. and when the creator of MGS says how impressed he is with the Splinter Cell series and how he woulda liked MGS to be a lil more like them .. it kinda answers my question from the makers themselves .. lol .. but yeah .. I think Splinter Cell holds the crown for stealth games ..

Again i think its more what you played.. i always had a Ps2 and was one of those who played MGS for ages when it came out. Plus when you play Psycho Mantis (i think), and you have to switch the pad from port 1 to 2, that was quality. I like Splinter Cell a lot, but MGS was just that little better.

.. and well it's true what's bein said about the platforms .. cos MGS does work better with the ps pad ..

.. and to answer someones question .. I was playin Metal Gear on the old Nintendo before Sony even thought about makin a games console ..
