Flava of the Month – AZ x Termanology [News]

DJ 279’s Flavas Rap Show is the longest running Rap Show in the U.K, boasting fifteen years of continuous airplay showcasing the newest artists emerging in the Hip-Hop world. In 1993, DJ 279 launched Flava of the Month, a monthly Hip-Hop party which has seen the likes of Black Twang, Skinnyman and Scratch Perverts taking the stage. Flava of the Month is back, this time with U.S Hip-Hop icons AZ and Termanology on September 29th 2010. The evening will be hosted by Mystro, and tickets start from £12.50. Fat Beats Announces Closure of New York and Los Angeles Stores [News]

After 16 years, Fat Beats has announced the closing of the legendary label’s two remaining retail locations in New York and Los Angeles. Fat Beats will celebrate the legacies of the stores, which are scheduled to close in early September (New York: September 4th, Los Angeles: September 18th) by throwing a series of blow-out sales and tribute parties open to the public during their last weeks. The Doctors Orders Presents Questlove Live Set in September [News]

It’s fair to say The Doctors Orders are responsible for bringing the biggest artists and DJ’s into the U.K, and there’s no difference as it’s announced Questlove will be headlining a DJ set on the 11th September 2010. In assosiation with Dephect, other DJ’s performing in the evening are Mr Thing and the Spin Doctor, and the first 200 tickets will be available for just £8. Lewis Parker x John Robinson Live in Leeds [News]

The Elbow Room in Leeds is the home to many Hip-Hop nights, previously including the Chief Wigz album launch amongst others. On the 14th August the city of Leeds will be blessed with the presence of Lewis Parker and John Robinson for a live show with tickets for just £5. Support on the evening will come from J Bravo / Brutal Artistry / Verbal Contact / DJ Prolific / Kockee K and others. A lot of people will be familiar with JC from his “The KHz Project” which was a free download which featured the likes of SonnyJim and Klashnekoff. Now JC is back with his self-formed No Money Records for a double sided single which will be available from 2nd August. The A-Side called “Ayo” features Oddisee and “Soul Search” is the B-side which presents Malik from Moorish Delta 7 and LKC. I’ll have the download / purchase links available in August, however in the meantime you can visit the new No Money Records website on the link below.

Atmosphere Announce To All My Friends Tour [News]

Atmosphere, the most prolific group in independent rap, has announced plans to tour the US with Rhymesayers label-mates Blueprint, Grieves & Budo, and DJ Rare Groove. The tour, which stretches 23 performances across the month of September into the beginning of October, will stoke anticipation for Blueprint’s upcoming release while introducing audiences to recent signees Grieves & Budo, who are also slated to release an album in the near future.

Held in Germany, the Splash Festival is on par with Rock The Bells, and always presents the most relevant and biggest artists in the urban music world.
