Rhymefest Interview [Exclusive]

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

I’ve had the opportunity to speak with Chicago rapper Rhymefest, as he’s just released his sophomore album “El Che”. I speak with Rhymefest about the promotion leading up to the album, and ask if he was happy with the amount of coverage he received. We also spoke on his personal favourite records, and how important his creative control was over El Che. Later in the interview, I asked Rhymefest about the Charles Hamilton situation, and he explains how a joint performance turned into a battle and more. Lastly, Rhymefest speaks about his meeting with U.K Prime Minister David Cameron, and how he himself will be running for office, and releasing a “secret” album. You can listen to my interview with Rhymefest below.

Rhymefest Recalls Talk With New U.K Prime Minister [News]

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Back in 2006, David Cameron (the new U.K Prime Minister) was quoted saying “rap music encourages people to carry guns and knives”. Rhymefest challenged the statement and requested a meeting with Cameron to discuss his thoughts and shed light on conscious Hip-Hop music. Last week David Cameron was introduced as the new U.K prime minister, and Rhymefest was given the opportunity to speak about the genre and his thoughts about the comments. Rhymefest is hoping to continue discussions ahead of the new album “El Che” and is planning to give a copy to David Cameron to listen in his office. Hip-Hop Kings will be following the story closely.
