Ice Cube Heads For Scholarship Deal
Published on 09 May, 2006Email To Friend

Ice Cube is still venturing into other areas of music. This time the west-coast rapper has visited a contemporary music school, in a bid to have a schoarship named after him. On Thursday 4th May, Cube visited Minnesota's McNally Smith College of Music, and spent time interacting with students and inking the deal with the schools Executive Manager.

"The opportunity to recognize Ice Cube's influence on contemporary music with a scholarship is very exciting," said Executive VP of McNally Smith Executive, Diane Kruger, via a statement. "His passion and drive has set an example for the next generation of musical innovators."

Ice Cube talked to students about not giving up on their dreams, and attempting to pursue career's that they really wanted. Cube also talked about issues regarding writers block, and how he overcame that, along with revealing his dreams of working with Prince.

This approach was something of a familiarity for the school, as its renowned for these sort of scholarships. A similar scholarship was set up a year ago, called the Diana Ross scholarship. Its reported that various other influential musicians have also taken this step, and have scholarships named after themselves.
