News Back To Archives News   Prev    Next The Roots Announce Seventh Studio Album Published on 17 June, 2006 Email To Friend  News was released last night that “The Roots” will be working on their seventh studio album “Game Theory”, which is set to be released on August 29th. “The Roots” stars Black Thought,?uestlove and affiliate Dice Raw have gone on tour to promote the new album. Plenty of rumours were circulating, suggesting that the likes of Saigon, Talib Kweli and Mos Def all had verses on the new album. This rumour was squashed, however it can be revealed that Dice and Malik B will both feature at some point on the album. This release will be the group's first through DefJam, as their previous five albums were released through Geffen and MCA. After releasing Organix independently in 1993, the group dropped five studio albums through Geffen and MCA. To date they've released 1995's Do You Want More, 1996's Illadelph Halflife,1999's Things Fall Apart, 2002 Phrenology and 2004's The Tipping Point.
