News Back To Archives News   Prev    Next Close Friend Of Proof Dead - Two Men Arrested Published on 19 June, 2006 Email To Friend  Two men have been arrested on murder and gun charges, after evidence suggests that John Henry Williams II and Corey Frazier shot and killed Gerald Rosic Gadie in the basement of his own home, then stole 20 pounds of Cannabis and $7,000 in cash. Gerald Rosic Gadie was Proof's friend who drove him to hospital once the rapper had been shot, over a dispute in a nightclub which turned into gunfire. The news has emerged as quite a shock to most, and its sad to see two friends lose their lives in such a short space of time. David Braxton, Williams' attorney, said his client had no criminal record and that the case against him was largely based on statements Frazier had made to police. Frazier had no legal representation during his arraignment. Both men remain held without bond, pending a June 30 preliminary examination. Mario Etheridge, the man who allegedly shot Proof will NOT be convicted for murder. However Etheridge, is been charged for concealing a weapon, and discharging a firearm in a building. If he is convicted of both charges, Etheridge could spend up to nine years in prison.
