Monday was not a good night for rappers Ja Rule and Lil' Wayne. Both were arrested in New York on seperate incidents on gun charges.

Ja Rule was stopped around 10:30PM, after speeding in a limo on West End Avenue. When the police searched the vechicle, they found a .40 caliber hand gun.

Hours later, New Orleans rapper Lil' Wayne was arrested in a seperate instance. Wayne was searched after police witnessed him and another man allegedly smoking marijuana near a tour bus near 61st Street around 11:30PM.

Before the arrest, Wayne was doing a performance at the Beacon Theater. Officers also found a .40 caliber. Both Rule and Wayne were charged with criminal possession of a weapon and marijuana.

Representatives for both artists could not be reached at press time.
