Looking back through the archives I was shocked to find I hadn’t featured Jehst on Hip-Hop Kings before. Born in my city of Leeds and now living in London, Jehst is one of the most popular and talented U.K lyricists I’ve ever come across. You should share my excitement when he tweeted that his unofficial release to Billy Brimstone is now available for free download. I would encourage new fans to give it a listen, and drop feedback with your thoughts. You can download Jehst – Billy Brimstone Unofficial Release on the link below.

19th April 2010 marked the death of one of the most popular Hip-Hop artists in our generation. Legendary MC Guru lost an on-going battle with cancer, and the Hip-Hop world was saddened by the news which was confirmed at the early hours of Tuesday morning. Guru is of course the lyricist behind the Hip-Hop duo Gangstarr which also consisted of DJ Premier. Gangstarr were widely regarded as one of the most favourable and popular Hip-Hop duo’s in the world.
After the split of Gangstarr, Guru continued to remain in-demand, and the Jazzmatazz series was born. Working with a brand new producer at the time named Solar, Guru took a new direction with his sound for the Jazzmatazz series, promising he wouldn’t fade from his Hip-Hop roots. Four successive releases saw the Jazzmatazz series a collectors item. 2009 marked the release of Guru Lost And Found 8:0 which was a massive hit not only on Hip-Hop Kings but across the Hip-Hop board.
2010 has marked the untimely death of Guru and the tributes have been flowing. DJs to bloggers to radio personalities have flooded the airwaves and Internet pages with old school music and interviews. Guru will be ultimately missed and classed alongside the other Hip-Hop legends. I expect the readers of Hip-Hop Kings to show support and love to Guru. R.I.P 19th April 2010.

Fans of Skandal will be fully aware that he’s recently released a new record titled Hunger Pains, and with rave reviews across the country it’s put Skandal into the “one-of-the-most-talked-about-rappers” category. I’m so happy to be sharing the brand new video for the track Terrovision which was my personal favourite from the Hunger Pains record. Well produced and directed – I’m sure this will appeal to an International fan base as well. You can watch Skandal – Terrovision on the player below.
