• October 6, 2010 • Comments (2)

I’ve caught up with Smart Kid – and he gave an exclusive interview to Hip-HopKings.Com

HHK: Firstly thanks for speaking to Hip-Hop Kings. Can we have an introduction and brief history of your rapping career so far?

HHK: Firstly thanks for speaking to Hip-Hop Kings. Can we have an introduction and brief history of your rapping career so far?
Smart Kid: I have been doing music for many years. I am a Grime artist. My “Discography” is available for download at www.smartkidofficial.co.uk Thats 4 Mix CD’s plus “The Statement” E.P. A track taken off my 4th mixtape “Doin My Thing” was featured in the Adulthood movie. From then I have been putting in a lot of studio work which I am planning to release in the near future, starting with my debut single “RED HANDED”
HHK: You’re promoting the new single “Red Handed” what qualities did the record have to be released as a single?
Smart Kid: The track in my honest opinion has a real good feel to it and is very catchy. If you listen to it once you will walk away singing the chorus. It has a good balance of sound, relevance and new.
HHK: You’ve obviously teamed up with Pierre Amil for the track. How did that collaboration come about?
Smart Kid: That came through my studio engineer Ren. When we first heard the track he knew who he wanted to do the chorus. It worked out for the best and we have the single as a result of it.
HHK: If you could work with any recording artist, who would it be and why?
Smart Kid: Right now I would love to record a song with Dappy from N-Dubz, that would be crazy!
HHK: What other projects are you supporting / working on at the moment? And where can fans check out your music?
Smart Kid: “RED HANDED” is the first single, I have just uploaded a new video as well entitled “DREAM” which is on www.smartkidofficial.co.uk I am currently working on an album.
HHK: What are the rest of your plans for 2010? And are there any live dates set up?
Smart Kid: I will make sure somebody keeps you posted on all upcoming events
HHK: Thanks for speaking to Hip-Hop Kings. Good luck for the rest of the year and keep in touch!
Smart Kid: Thank you its been a pleasure.HHK: Firstly thanks for speaking to Hip-Hop Kings. Can we have an introduction and brief history of your rapping career so far?
