Pittsburgh is full of upcoming talent which includes the likes of Nick Rage, Boaz and Wiz Khalifa. Boaz had a monumental 2009, and his debut album “The Audio Biography” was critically acclaimed in the most respectful magazines and award shows across the country. Boaz continues his buzz with another solo mixtape called “Selling A Dream”, and the first leak is called “What You Know About”. Produced by the legendary Statik Selektah, I’m expecting plenty of leaks and promotion ahead of the release. You can listen to Boaz – What You Know About on the player below.
I’m excited to share the new leak from QuESt called “Swear Im Putting On”. QuESt has previously had a great response from the Hip-Hop Kings viewers, and the latest track that’s being produced by Numonics is set to be no different. The track will be featured on both QuESt’s upcoming “How Thoughtful” mixtape and Numonics “Being Cool Doesn’t Pay The Bills” debut album. You can listen to QuESt – Swear Im Putting On below.
This is the brand new video from Kidd Kidd called “From Here”. I’d usually enter some cliche punchline like; he’s so good they named him twice. I don’t need to, but I guess I just did. The video has been produced and directed by Sha Money XL, who in 2009 released news he had inked a multi-million dollar music and film distribution deal for his “Dream Big” venture. The former Young Money member also dropped his DJ Whoo Kid mixtape “New Kidd On The Block”. You can watch the video for Kidd Kidd – From Here on the player below.
As Hip-Hop Kings previously reported, Freeway and Jake One are releasing a collaborative album called “The Stimulus Package”. As always, Rhymesayers Entertainment have previewed the packaging and inside covers of the album which are looking amazing as usual. Released on the 16th February 2010, Jake One and Freeway are seen carrying this package in a mission impossible-type movie clip. You can watch The Stimulus Package Promotional Video on the player below.
Following their previous collaborative single “Blame It On The Game” Bryant Stewart and Gerald Walker have joined forces for a second time for the new single Focused. The Chicago / St Louis combination is proving highly popular, and I should expect to receive more music from the duo throughout the course of 2010. Rumours of a collaborative project have circulated the Internet, and an official press release should be sent in the forthcoming months. You can listen to Gerald Walker x Bryant Stewart – Focused on the player below.
Here is a freestyle from Skandal over the Young Money’s Bed Rock instrumental. The Hunger Pains mixtape with DJMK has had rave reviews from across the industry, including album of the week in “The Independent” and a one to watch in “The Guardian”. There is also a confirmed collaboration with Klashnekoff coming soon which fans should definitely be excited for. You can listen to the Skandal – Bed Rock Freestyle on the player below.
As Hip-Hop Kings previously reported, the Wu-Tang Clan are releasing a brand new album called “Return Of The Wu” which has been mixed by DJ Mathematics. Speaking from a producer perspective, Mathematics sits down for a quick two-minute feature and explains some of the theories and ideas behind Clap 2010, and the other tracks on the album. Return Of The Wu will be available from 16th February 2010. You can watch the DJ Mathematics feature on Return Of The Wu on the player below.
After mainstream recongition with “Come And Get It”, Basic Vocab return with their 2010 new album “A Better Way”. Released on April 13th 2010, Basic Vocab will feature Tanya Morgan’s Donwill and Jesse Boykins III. Produced mainly by Tony Galvin who has already worked with the likes of Trick Daddy and Trina, the twenty-one track LP is sure to continue their commercial reward for their hard work. Having being featured on 2DopeBoyz, OnSmash and HipHopDX, I’m anticipating a strong promotional campaign. We’ll have more information on the Basic Vocab – A Better Way project as it appears.
