Another independent artist working hard and promoting his own music is Ya Boy Blitz. A name that’s becoming very popular within the music scene is working with Stretch Money from Cash Family Records for their new single What You Gon Do. Ya Boy Blitz has had plenty of blog coverage and radio spins for the single, which I expect to see promoted for the next few months. You can listen to Ya Boy Blitz x Stretch Money – What You Gon Do on the player below.
I introduced NOV (Native Of VA) to Hip-Hop Kings with a previous collaboration with Ceewhy titled “Frontin In My Ride”. NOV then contacted me directly with some new material – and the title of the new track is Spotlight. NOV has an exciting new project in the works – and I’ll be sure to continue to monitor the progress and share any new music when it comes my way. You can listen to NOV (Native of VA) – Spotlight on the player below.

In anticipation of Rhymefest‘s upcoming album “El Che”, the conscious rapper will be releasing a pre-LP titled “Dangerous 5-18″ on Monday 5th April 2010. Regular viewers will have heard Rhymefest‘s track “Letter” which I hosted on Hip-Hop Kings last week, and I have the second official leak from the mixtape titled Familiar Faces. The track may be familiar to a lot of cross-genre loving fans as it interpolates Gary Jules’ “Mad World”. You can listen to Rhymefest – Familiar Faces on the player below.
Chi-Ill was previously covered on Hip-Hop Kings throughout 2009 and early 2010 with a series of singles and an exclusive interview. The Chicago-based rapper returns with the news his latest project “Last Chance Lounge” which will be released in early April. The official leak from the record is a track titled “Over Remix” which is an O-Zone world premier. Look out for Chi-Ill‘s new project which features a collaboration with Hip-Hop legend Kool G Rap. You can listen to Chi-Ill – Over Remix on the player below.
Co-founder of Good*Fella Radio Q-es (the man on the camera in the Good*Fella interviews) lives and breaths Hip-Hop. I was sent an email today informing that Q-es will be releasing a very unique project titled “The Vision E.P”. Q-es stated that it’s a venture he’s wanted to persue for a long time, and the sucess of Good*Fella Radio has allowed him to do this. The first leak from The Vision E.P is a collaborative track with CID called “High To The Sky”. I expect plenty more of promotion leading up to the E.P release. You can listen to Q-es x CID – High To The Sky on the player below.
Here is the brand new mixtape from Nefew titled Antihero Begins in conjunction with Puma and 2DopeBoyz.Com. Nefew are fans favourites on Hip-Hop Kings, and I’ve previously hosted singles such as Alternatives and What U Talk About. The collaboration with 2DopeBoyz is without a doubt set to open them to a brand new fan base for Nefew, and statistics suggest that the mixtape has been downloaded at least three thousand times in the first couple of days. You can view the official artwork and the download link for Nefew – Antihero Begins below.

I love posting alternate / different music on the blog. Thunderclaps make their first appearance on Hip-Hop Kings with a fine display of audio and editing skills. Thunderclaps remake the Fat Joe – Lean Back track amongst other things, and integrate a number of different methods into their music. You can watch Thunderclaps – Bootstrap Volume One on the video player below.
Mystro is back once again with his brand new vidoe for Aquarius. Fans of the U.K Hip-Hop legend will be familiar with Aquarius which is featured on the recently-released F.D.T (Fuck Da Taxman) E.P, and is without a doubt one of the highlight tracks. Mystro has teamed up with DJ Gone for production and direction on the video, and considering the budget restraints (Mystro‘s fully independent) it’s a pretty good video. You can watch Mystro – Aquarius on the player below.
Sorry people. APRIL FOOLS! I wish I could get an exclusive interview with 50 Cent and Eminem. On related news, 50 Cent has just directed a video for Lloyd Banks for his single “On My Way”. We also heard news that Lloyd Banks‘ new album “The Hunger For More 2″ will be ready in the Summer 0f 2010.
Tony Yayo recently celebrated his 76th birthday recently. If you haven’t heard his single “Obama” it’s actually quite good. It appears that the phone call with 50 Cent was just another genius marketing ploy to raise the profile of both rappers and ultimately result in sales. Unfortunately Yayo doesn’t use his own Twitter page so nothing funny to report there.
And last but not least, Eminem will be back in the U.K this July for a number of major festivals including T In The Park, OpenAir and Oxegen. Relapse 2 is on it’s way (I hope it’s as good as the first) and obviously Eminem‘s Refill is available to fans for purchase now.
