The story of IrReality Show is one fairly typical of a young man's grind to achieve his dream. Ohio-born “Sky 7th”, is embarking on releasing his debut studio album “IrReality Show", and the underground-rap star’s story is certainly an intriguing one. Sky has lost close family members throughout the years, including the likes of his influential-Grandad, so the likelihood of Sky creating an album just a year later is truly inspiring. IrReality Show definitely reflects the skill, and determination which Sky 7th possesses.
The album features production from some very well known underground names. The likes of “Vocab”, “5 Lyfe”, “Deacon Tha Villain” and “Anno Domini” handle behind-the-board action, which instantly promises an exciting release. Sky 7th collaborates with long-time business partner and friend “Lou Sleefe”, along with the likes of “Q.Jones”, “Rufus Troy” and “Joseph Sojourner-S”. The seventeen-track album is very well produced, and created, along with some fantastic solo, and collaborative verses from all the guys involved.
The album is very up-tempo affair, and Sky 7th is quick to show his lyrical ability in “Beauty Of Life”. The single is available for stream on Sky 7th's MySpace page, and is a good starter to provide a level of quality for the remainder of the album. The quality continues with “Our Place In Time”. The story-type track is a reminiscent of Sky's feelings regarding the opposite sex, and uses the chance to portray an image, using his vivid imagery skills. The heart-felt “Holdin' My Head Up” is another excellently-produced single, with an array of deep and meaningful content. Sky 7th fans have noting to worry about. Sky will always touch on the more realistic topics in life, in such a way that every single listener will somehow be able to relate.
Sky 7th particularly works well with Lou Sleefe. The duo combine on tracks “Back Into The World” and Everyday Struggle”, with both releases proving strong contenders for fans' favourites on the album. “Everyday Struggle” is a reality-check composition, with the two artists writing and rapping about their feelings regarding several real-life issues. “Back Into The World” is a more aggressive feature, with a highly catchy hook. Regardless of the topic, or tone of the track, Sky and Lou manage to adapt their styles accordingly, which highlights the diversity they both possess. The other artist-featured tracks include “The Night Is Yours” with “Joseph Sojourner-S”. The chill-out vibe is met with the very confident pair, and filled with metaphor and punch lines. “Inseparable” and “Find Me An Angel” host “Q.Jones” and “Rufus Troy” respectively. Both account well to the track list, and overall add a sense of quality and professionalism that Sky set from the get-go.
Sky 7th ticks all the correct boxes. Tight lyrics – check. Relative content – check. What more can a fan ask for? The development of Sky 7th has been incredible, and with Ohio's next-big-thing drawing influences from everybody, and everything, we can only hope to see more from him. A solid release from an upcoming rapper who deserves much praise and attention. The future is bright for Sky 7th. Stand up and listen.
