Asher Roth – Gotta Get Up Feat. D.A. Wallach [Video]
Asher Roth has released the video for his track “Gotta Get Up” which features Chester French’s D.A. Wallach. The track is from Asher Roth‘s Rawth EP with Nottz. The video is directed by Luke Tedaldi, and follows an MC going through his neighbourhood. Also be on the look out for Roth’s sophomore album The Spaghetti Tree.

Asher Paul Roth (born August 11, 1985) is an American rapper. He was signed to a joint venture between Scooter Braun’s Schoolboy Music and Steve Rifkind’s SRC Records. His first professional release was on June 13, 2008, when the DJ Drama and Don Cannon-helmed The GreenHouse Effect Mixtape was released for free via Roth’s Web site. Roth was featured on the cover of XXL magazine’s annual Top 10 Freshmen: Hip-Hop’s Class ’09 issue. Roth’s debut album, Asleep in the Bread Aisle, was released on April 20, 2009.

The original version was on Asher Roth‘s “Asleep In The Bread Aisle” album, however we’ve managed to get hold of a remix which features Nike Nando, Darren Hanible, D.Omen and Cayan. The remix is said to do the original justice, however Asher Roth hasn’t commented on the new version. We’re not sure which project this will feature on, but it’s worth listening to. Asher Roth Interview [Interview]
Our friends over at The Hip Hop Chronicle managed to sit down with college rap-star Asher Roth during his time in London. The pair spoke about the “Sour Patch Kids”, his passions outside of music, and who would be enrolled and leading a “Hip Hop college”. Furthermore, when asked about producers working on his next project, Asher grins when the names Pete Rock and 9th Wonder are mentioned, which I think everybody would agree, could be a great collaboration.
