At the recent TTT9 event in Manchester for Don’t Flop, Disciple stepped against Shotty Horroh making his debut in his hometown. In one of the most anticipated battles in recent times, Blackpool’s Disciple and Manchester’s Shotty Horroh both put £50 on the line. With over 5000 youtube views in one day, I was lucky enough to be at the event and judge who I thought was the winner at the end. Long time Hip-Hop Kings fan and U.K Hip-Hop artist EvilA has just released his new single titled “No Gravity”. EvilA has also made a name for himself in the U.K rap battle league “Don’t Flop” and is regarded as one of the deepest / lyrically focused artists. EvilA has announced he is releasing a new mixtape in 2012 titled “End of the Words As We Know It Vol.1″ and has been working with media company who have been shooting a documentary (more info coming soon). JollyJay and H-to-O | Scattered Colours on the Rubix Cube
During the last Don’t Flop event, Hip-Hop Kings caught up with German/London rapper JollyJay. Speaking about his battle with Verb T, his album “Scattered Colours on the Rubix Cube” and a cameo from his rap partner H-to-0. During the recent Don’t Flop battle in London, our Hip-Hop Kings cameraman (@NomadicSporadic) caught up with MOBO winner Soweto Kinch. When asked about new music, Soweto Kinch revealed to fans they can download his new album “The New Emancipation” (download link above) to support his movement, along with an upcoming tour. Lastly Soweto Kinch speaks about the fusion between Jazz and Hip-Hop, and how his new album reflects the new sound. West Yorkshire based Hip-Hop artists Lunar C and Matter have teamed up for their latest single “Ip Op” (produced by Wizard) which has been made available as a free download from the Lunar C bandcamp page (download link above). Lunar C and Matter are notorious Dont Flop battle rappers, and recently teamed up in a doubles match which will be featured on the official Dont Flop youtube page in the forthcoming weeks. You can catch both Lunar C and Matter battling at the next Don’t Flop event in Leeds on September 17th, and will both be at the Hip-Hop Kings afterparty on the same night. Following the massive success of the U.K rap battle league Don’t Flop, Sedgwick Avenue will be the host of the first Don’t Flop event in Leeds. Main battles including Matter vs Pamflit and Lunar C vs Micky Worthless amongst a list of try out battles, plus Hip-Hop Kings will be hosting the after party up until 22:00 Tickets are £3.00 on the door however the Hip-Hop Kings after party is free. Making his debut on Hip-Hop Kings is Manchester based Diligent Fingers with the video for his single “99% Freestyle”. Diligent Fingers shows his effortless rhyming style over the Sonnyjim and Wizard orginal track with his own little twist which has been credited with just under 1000 youtube views to date. Bradford MC Lunar C has been making a huge impact in the Dont Flop battle scene, and he’s recently collaborated with Huddersfield based Jack Flash for their single “Call It”. The brand new video has been filmed by Paul Cockcroft, and the single (produced by Wizard) is set to be well received across the country. U.K/German based underground Hip-Hop artist JollyJay has teamed up with Bajka for their latest collaborative single “Virtual”. The track has been produced by Cloud 9, and is a great way to keep JollyJay‘s fans fed with new music. A lot has been happening for JollyJay, and he’ll be celebrating the sucess of “Scattered Colours on the Rubiks Cube” has now sold 1000 copies, so JollyJay is in the process of re-ordering another 1000. JollyJay is working on two upcoming projects, one with production from Doe Diggla which is described as more upbeat/electronic, and the second following the path of his debut release with H-to-0 “Scattered Colours on the Rubika Cube”. Lastly JollyJay is set to square up against “D’Meitz” in the Don’t Flop International battle, which has been highly anticipated from the Don’t Flop and Grindtime battle leagues.
