Dr. Dre’s ‘Detox’ Samples La Roux’s “In For The Kill” Remix [News]

• April 7, 2011 • Comments (1)

La Roux‘s Elly Jackson has revealed that Dr. Dre has sampled the Skream remix of the duo’s song, “In For The Kill”.

Detox is possibly one of the most long awaited, delayed and overdue albums in Hip-Hop history, but after Dr. Dre has released the singles “Kush” and “I Need A Doctor“, Dre has received some mixed reviews about the direction of the album.

“He got really excited about the track which is obviously really complimentary,” she said. “He did something with it and then sent it to us and [asked] can he use it for his record and we said ‘Yes.’” She also said, “[He's used] mainly the vocal and then he put his own beats on it. It’s supposed to be on the next record.”

Elly Jackson claims that Dr. Dre heard the song on an episode of Entourage.

“Apparently he and The Game were sitting watching Entourage together. My manager always jokes that they were eating ice cream under blankets and having a girl’s night in.”

Still, there is no official release date for Detox.

Eminem x Jay-Z x Dr Dre x Cashis x 50 Cent x Stat Quo – Syllables [Music]

• December 29, 2010 • Comments (3)

There was a lot of hype surrounding this track, but it’s now been confirmed that “Syllables” from Eminem, Jay-Z, Dr Dre, 50 Cent, Cashis and Stat Quo is actually an old track that was recorded a couple of years ago. A big give-away is the voice used from Eminem, more familiar with his music pre-Relapse. The track is still excellent and is a brilliant combination of the finest Aftermath-affiliated artists. Watch out for some more music in the near future from the above artists as we head into 2011. Many questions remain regarding Detox, however “Syllables” isn’t a confirmed entry on the track listing. You can listen to Eminem x Jay-Z x Dr Dre x Cashis x 50 Cent x Stat Quo – Syllables below.
