Double A.B ft Iron Braydz - London Calling

Another International collaboration from Iron Braydz has seen a recent video with New York based Double A.B for their track “London Calling”. Double A.B has been living in Tottenham for the past few months, and the video is based around the London riots earlier in August 2011. The collaborative track is another great example of International Hip-Hop at it’s best, and both Double A.B and Iron Braydz are succesfully building their profiles as a result. Following the success of Grit Grammar’s previous album “Life Music” a new single has been leaked today called “Ill Rap”. The track has been produced by Baron Samedi (check out his Charlie Sheen rap) and features west London artist Iron Braydz. This collaborative effort isn’t the first for the above artists, as they teamed up with Kyza on Grit Grammar’s “Life Music” on the track “Move” which was arguably one of the best U.K Hip-Hop tracks of the year. Grit Grammar – Life Music [Exclusive]

Ryan Maxwell • October 25, 2010 • Comments (1)
It’s extremely difficult to give each artist the same amount of time dedication when reviewing a new album or E.P, certainly if their name doesn’t get thrown around in the same circle of the elite U.K Hip-Hop clique. Grit Grammar is an artist who’s now firmly established himself as one of the most respected and gifted lyricists within the genre, and his new album Life Music is a brilliant opportunity to showcase his talent to the world, alongside fans given an ideal chance to rate his music when he’s at his best

The eleven track album is exactly what the title suggests, Grit Grammar speaking passionately and emotionally about various life experiences from his childhood through to the present day. Prime examples of the above are the tracks “Hard Times” which features Genesis Elijah, and the single from the album “Life Is” which features Kyza and Dani Appadoo. It’s fair to say that the featured artists generously contribute to their given tracks, and really stand out as further examples of what talent the U.K Hip-Hop scene has to offer.

My personal favourite track on Life Music is undoubtedly “Move” which features Kyza and Iron Braydz. The lyrically-focused track is an absolute monster and contains countless quotable punch lines from all artists involved. Another firm favourite is the final track “Rich and Famous” which features Baron Samedi. Baron has been credited for co-producing the entire album, and was featured heavily in the track listing and editing of the music. His experience has shone through, as the outcome of Life Music is a well-produced and put together record.
As far as criticism comes there’s very little to comment on. The less appealing track “Going Under” which is a story about an addiction to cannabis and cocaine. It comes to personal preference that when listening through the album, however I’d still rate the song individually as good. I’d urge anybody who supports the genre to buy a copy of Life Music and dedicate some time to listen to the music, content, and the story of Grit Grammar as it’s not only compelling, but written and recorded in a way that will appeal in more ways than one.

Iron Braydz

Bulding bridges and making connections with our International friends, U.K Hip-Hop pioneer Iron Braydz has teamed up with Math Hoffa and Broklyn Hanz for the video “London 2 Brooklyn”. The video was shot when Iron Braydz was in Brooklyn, and literally made in two hours before he headed back to the airport for his return home. Iron Braydz was working on an E.P titled “Only in America” but unfortunately due to time restrains was not able to finish the project. Bloodline Vision presents “Truth and Rights” featuring Iron Braydz, who as we know is a leading U.K Hip-Hop artist who constantly challenges the stat quo. Iron Braydz speaks on political and contraversial content, in what can only be described in a “thought-provoking way”. Truth and Rights is a new current affairs program, where unsigned artists have the chance to speak on problems and troubles within the community. You can watch Iron Braydz on Truth and Rights below.

Iron Braydz – Move [Music]

Ryan Maxwell • January 25, 2010 • Comments (1)

Iron Braydz has been labelled as the English Immortal Technique. Not fair to compare the two even though there are similarities. The same mistake has been made between Asher Roth and Eminem. Iron Braydz will be releasing his brand new “Devil May Cry” this month, and the single Move is an official leak from the release. You can listen to Iron Braydz – Move on the video player below.

Iron Braydz Interview [Exclusive]

Ryan Maxwell • November 24, 2009 • Comments (6)
HHK: Thanks for speaking to us Iron Braydz. For new fans, can we have an introduction please?
Iron Braydz: Peace, my name is IronBraydz, I’m from North West London, I’m a recording artist, producer, radio presenter and just recently started a career in playwritting.
HHK: The single Golden Legacy is getting heavy rotation at the moment. How has the response generally been from fans? And why did you select Golden Legacy as a lead single?
Iron Braydz: The response has been great, I don’t have fans, I have friends. They have all given me very positive feedback on the track, Endemic went as far as to straight up call it UK Wu-Tang. I chose Golden Legacy as the 1st release because from the moment I produced that beat I knew it would be my first solid joint to let out as a warning shot. M9 was originally gonna record the track with me so we could put it on a collaboration album we spoke about quite often, but things change. We ended up recording another dope joint called “Devils Death Day”, it’s the 1st track on the project.
HHK: We also had news that the single is from the forthcoming album “Devil May Cry”. What gave you the influence for the album title? And is there any confirmed guest appearances or any guest producers involved yet?
Iron Braydz: The influence for the title first came from the PS2 game, but I slowly developed it into my own meaning, this is verbal warfare, the title kind’a speaks for itself, but feel free to let it mean what you want it to mean. I’ve got Marley Marl on there just showing me love when I was on 279′s Friday Night FLAVOURS, Lewis Parker, M9, Cyrus Malachi, Guilty Simpson, Sav KIllz, Proppa, Morph Beatz and Chemo.
HHK: You’re obviously assosiated with the Iron Rap Show. What can you tell people about the show? And how did you manage to hook up the deal with bangradio?
Iron Braydz: The Iron rap Show is my radio show that’s on air every Saturday from 6pm to 8pm. I play Hip Hop, old school, new school, UK to world, no discrimination. MC’s holla! if it’s good, i’ll play it! I’ve been involved with the station since the very begining.
HHK: Can you explain the prank that was pulled by Viper G?
Iron Braydz: No, because I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Lol!
HHK: Your music has been compared to the likes of Immortal Technique and M1 from Dead Prez who you’ve had the good fortune of sharing a stage with. Do you see the similarities in music styles with those artists? And if you could work with any artist, who would it be?
Iron Braydz: Is that right? WOW! I’m honoured and humbled by that, I can say I do see or hear the similarities because they’ve always been a big inspiration, but I gotta say it’s always been RZA of Wu, because from that moment he showed what to do with the MPC2000xl i’ve grown from strength to strength, I did also share the stage with him back in 2001. I gotta name drop but the biggest honour has to be when Chuck D of Public Enemy personally asked me to come join him and the whole band on stage at the Kentish Town Forum back in 2005. I’d Love to work with Massive Attack! them brothers contributed to Hip Hop in a big way back in the mid 90′s, I need that sound in my life.
HHK: Speaking of shows, are there any live performances planned for the rest of 2009? And where has been your favourite venue or city to perform?
Iron Braydz: Nothing on at the moment, my most memorable performance was the one I did the day my father had passed away.
HHK: Do you have any other plans for 2009? And where are the best places where fans can check for updates?
Iron Braydz: Catch me youtube.com/ironbraydz or myspace.com/ironbraydz, facebook.com/ironbraydz or just Google the name. If you’d like me to come do a show just holla, iron.braydz@gmail.com. My plans for the rest of the year is to finish my next Hip Hop project, get the PR campaign moving and get the CD’s pressed.
HHK: And is there anything else you’d like to add to the interview?
Iron Braydz: DEVIL MAY CRY!
HHK: Thanks again for speaking to us Iron Braydz. Good luck with the album release and keep in touch!

Iron Braydz – Golden Legacy [Music]

Ryan Maxwell • November 15, 2009 • Comments (2)

Iron Braydz is steadily establishing himself as a major player in the U.K Hip-Hop scene. Already performing live with the likes of Immortal Technique, RZA and Saigon, Iron Braydz is going all out with the new single “Golden Legacy”. News surfaced that the single is the first official release from the new record “Devil May Cry” which is due in 2010, and is a project rather than an album. Iron Braydz self-describes Devil May Cry as “Hardcore Hip-Hop” and is set to feature U.K and U.S artists. You can listen to Iron Braydz – Golden Legacy on the player below
