Braydz ft Kyza - Scorpion Sting

To kick off his own 2012, Braydz has teamed up with long time friend and recording artist Kyza for their collaborative effort “Scorpion Sting”. It’s not the first time the pair have teamed up on a track, a personal favourite of mine is the track “Move” off one of my favourite U.K Hip-Hop albums (Grit Grammar – Life Music”). Braydz produced the track himself with Chemo on the boards, and fans can be delighted to hear that an official remix featuring Cyrus Malachi will be available in the forthcoming weeks as well. You can listen to the new track from Braydz ft Kyza – Scorpion Sting on the youtube player below.

Grit Grammar – Life Music [Exclusive]

Ryan Maxwell • October 25, 2010 • Comments (1)
It’s extremely difficult to give each artist the same amount of time dedication when reviewing a new album or E.P, certainly if their name doesn’t get thrown around in the same circle of the elite U.K Hip-Hop clique. Grit Grammar is an artist who’s now firmly established himself as one of the most respected and gifted lyricists within the genre, and his new album Life Music is a brilliant opportunity to showcase his talent to the world, alongside fans given an ideal chance to rate his music when he’s at his best

The eleven track album is exactly what the title suggests, Grit Grammar speaking passionately and emotionally about various life experiences from his childhood through to the present day. Prime examples of the above are the tracks “Hard Times” which features Genesis Elijah, and the single from the album “Life Is” which features Kyza and Dani Appadoo. It’s fair to say that the featured artists generously contribute to their given tracks, and really stand out as further examples of what talent the U.K Hip-Hop scene has to offer.

My personal favourite track on Life Music is undoubtedly “Move” which features Kyza and Iron Braydz. The lyrically-focused track is an absolute monster and contains countless quotable punch lines from all artists involved. Another firm favourite is the final track “Rich and Famous” which features Baron Samedi. Baron has been credited for co-producing the entire album, and was featured heavily in the track listing and editing of the music. His experience has shone through, as the outcome of Life Music is a well-produced and put together record.
As far as criticism comes there’s very little to comment on. The less appealing track “Going Under” which is a story about an addiction to cannabis and cocaine. It comes to personal preference that when listening through the album, however I’d still rate the song individually as good. I’d urge anybody who supports the genre to buy a copy of Life Music and dedicate some time to listen to the music, content, and the story of Grit Grammar as it’s not only compelling, but written and recorded in a way that will appeal in more ways than one.

Dubbledge – One Inch Punch [Upcoming Releases]

Ryan Maxwell • October 6, 2009 • Comments (3)

After the commercial success of the 2007-released The Richest Man in Babylon, Dubbledge is back in the studio with a new mixtape “One Inch Punch”. The U.K Hip-Hop hitman is known for his wicked lyricism, and the forthcoming mixtape is in preperation for a new album. Taking classic beats from the likes of Method Man, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, it’s a common consensus that Dubbledge does each remake justice. We’ve managed to give readers a glimpse of what’s to be expected on the mixtape. Dubbledge works with Kyza on the single “Juice”, which was the beat Rakim initially made famous. The second sample we have is ’09 Till Infinity’ which commemorates Souls of Mischief, and Dubbledge smashes the beat as he is commonly known for. You can listen to Dubbledge – Juice and Dubbledge – 09 Till Infinity on the players below.
