It’s a very special occasion when the Don’t Flop champion Tony D puts his title on the line, and the bar was incredibly high for his opponent Chris Leese who’s performed and beaten countless battlers throughout his Don’t Flop career. The fifth birthday event in Leeds was the arena for Tony D and Chris Leese to battle it out to see whether Tony D could once again retain his status as Don’t Flop Champion, or whether Chris Leese would be the third DF champ. Previous | Ultramagnetic MC’s Live in Leeds Review
Mos Def was always a bit of an enigma. From his days in UTD making distinctly ahead-of-its-time hybrids of Gangster leanings & Native Tongue-tinged melody to his Rawkus label-defining debut single ‘Universal Magnetic’. From his debut album’s organic traditional hip-hop with a pinch of soulful harmony to his long awaited follow-up which turned out to veer from straight up rock all the way through to commercial attempts at crossover.

Friday 19th April | Mint Club | Leeds
“A combination of Trap Music and Bass music which is set to be the country’s next trend”. Remember the name Strapt, the brainchild of Mike “Sonar Cousin” Davis who is widely regarded as one of the UK’s best music producers. Alongside the Strapt team, we’re ready to launch the first official Strapt night at Mint Club in Leeds on 19th April 2013, which will be the first of many memorable milestones in years to come.
By definition, Trap music is a hybrid of Southern American Hip-Hop, Electro and Dubstep. The popular Bauuer track “Haarlem Shake” is perhaps the most known commercial example, but with strong underground roots, fans of the single can expect to hear a whole lot more come 19th April at Strapt. The pure energy and excitement that Strapt will be offering fans is unrivalled, so don’t miss out on what promises to be an unforgettable night.
Visit the link above for more information on Strapt, Trap Music, and of course the all-important ticket link to avoid disappointment on missing this incredible event.
