Doomstarks (MF Doom x Ghostface) – Victory Laps [Music]

• July 25, 2011 • Comments (1)

Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah and underground rapper MF Doom give fans the first glipse of a potential album with the track “Victory Laps”.

Doomstarks - Victory Laps

About Doomstarks from Wikipedia.

Swift & Changeable was the name given to an unfinished collaboration album between MF DOOM and Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah which was announced in 2006 as a 2007 release. The project was described by Devin Horwitz of the Nature Sounds label as “about 75% done,” and produced by MF DOOM with one track by the late J Dilla.

Ghostface Killah & MF Doom appeared together (via digital enhancement) on a 2007 cover of Mass Appeal, which billed them as “GhostDOOM”. In a video interview MF Doom he referred to the project as “DoomStarks”. In a July 2009 interview, Ghostface Killah confirmed work on the album but later downplayed any hope of the album being made in an interview with Billboard Magazine.

One record they won’t hear for a while is his long-rumored collaboration with MF Doom. “Not as of right now,” he reports. “I’m about to go on the road again and I gotta finish up (the sequel to Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…) with Raekwon, so maybe when everything gets cleared out of the way, but we’ll find a space.”

The one song attributed to the project, “Angelz”, was released on MF Doom’s 2009 album Born Like This. Recently Nature Sounds released a new song in 2011 called “Victory Laps (Madvillainz Remix)” featuring both rappers and produced by the production duo. The original will be released later on in the month of July.

DOOM – Unexpected Guests [Upcoming Releases]

• September 22, 2009 • Comments (7)

This is an album release i’m very excited about. Underground phenomenon DOOM is one of the most original and unique voices in Hip-Hop, and his new album “Unexpected Guests” has a release date of 27th October 2009. Released through the label Gold Dust, DOOM has teamed up with a series of A-star producers and rappers including Jake One, Vast Aire, Talib Kweli and GZA amongst others.

His work started in the early 90′s with the seminal KMD, to release legend-status projects under the alias’ MF DOOM, Madvillain, King Geedorah, Viktor Vaughn, and of course the work with Dangermouse on “Dangerdoom”. His trademark mask has always identified him as an artistic, and mysterious artist, and that status has always been reflected in his music as well. DOOM has a huge list of guest appearances on both the microphone and production as well.

Hip-Hop Kings will be reporting any updates on the release, including tracklisting, artwork, singles, and promotional material. Make sure you log back in for updates in the near future. DOOM’s album “Unexpected Guests” will be released on 27th October 2009.
