Rhymesayers announced today that I Self Divine will be releasing his second studio album “The Sounds of Low Class America” on May 8th 2012, and to support the album, I Self Divine will be releasing four mixtapes (one each month) for free download. Today the first mixtape “LA State of Mind” has become available for fans to download (link above) and the ten track mixtape is the first of “The Culture Series” as we lead up to the album release. Hip-Hop Kings will be promoting the Culture Series and of course the album itself, so you can check the download link above and the official artwork for I Self Divine – LA State of Mind here.

Rhymesayers artist Brother Ali has today released the official video for his single “Writers Block” which has been produced by Jake One. In a track that has been made available as a free download, the track is the start of promoting for his 2012 album “Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color”. When Brother Ali last spoke to Hip-Hop Kings, he wanted to release a double disc album, however we don’t have the official track listing for the new album. I’m a little late in sharing this one, however very recently Slaughterhouse joined Funk Flex on his Hot 97 show for a brand new freestyle. The duo that make Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Crooked I, Joell Ortiz and Royce Da 5’9) show exactly why they are still the most talked about Hip-Hop supergroup. Slaughterhouse have conducted a number of interviews and made live appearances throughout 2011 in preperation of their debut album on Shady Records which will be available to fans in 2012. Joell Ortiz from the group confirmed in an exclusive interview with Hip-Hop Kings that Eminem will feature on the new album. Released via his social media websites, Talib Kweli announced today he will be releasing a brand new album in 2012 titled “Prisoner of Conscious”. Details are very vague at the moment, however Talib Kweli also reiterated he wants to release a follow-up Black Star album as well. Difficulties behind the scenes have prevented a Black Star album from being released in 2011, however the latest statement will delight fans who can’t wait to hear new music from the legendary Hip-Hop MC. We will be following all the latest developments with Prisoner of Conscious and the Black Star album as they arrive.

Underground Hip-Hop group La Coka Nostra have announced the name of their 2012 album “Masters of the Dark Arts”. La Coka Nostra (Ill Bill, Slaine, Danny Boy, Everlast and DJ Lethal) aim to have the album ready, and with fans by Spring of 2012, and the news was originally announced via Ill Bill’s Twitter. Hip-Hop Kings fans will remember the “Heavy Metal Kings” album and tour which featured Ill Bill and Vinnie Paz, and fans will be equally as happy to hear La Coka Nostra will be running an aggressive promotional campaign leading up to the release. We have no guest production or guest appearance details yet, however we’ll be keeping you updated with any news as it comes.

DoubleO and Naledge (collectively known as Kidz In The Hall) have announced the release of their new album “Occasions” which will be available to fans in March 2012. I’ve been fortunate enough to listen to the album prior to the release, which has been supported by Red Bull and Adidas. Following on from the massive West Yorkshire (#wy) movement, Hip-Hop Kings recently caught up with Huddersfield rapper Jack Flash at Sedgwick Avenue in Leeds, prior to “The Guilty Party” event. On Sunday I linked with the mighty Mystro at Sedgwick Avenue in Leeds for a brand new interview and freestyle.
