When we talk super groups in Hip-Hop it feels there aren’t enough. Today one was born. Hip-Hop Kings are delighted to be introducing Jamo Gang (Ras Kass, El Gant and J57).
The collaboration comes as quite a surprise at first, but the story starts with Ras Kass and El Gant working together and travelling to J57’s Brooklyn Studio. The three started recording as fun which quickly turned into a serious project. Plus, when you have DJ Premier publicly supporting you, it’s probably a winning combination. The three have already recorded enough material for an album and today release a single titled “Here We Go Again” ft Big Twins.
J57 oversaw the final stages of the album, making sure his signature sound is present while subtly improving the record. We are still looking forward to the Flight LP with Koncept which we hope will see a release in the first half of 2017. While Ras Kass is still celebrating the release of SOI2 (Sound of Ice 2) which featured the likes of RZA, Onyx, Statik Selektah and Bun B, he had time to lay some serious verses on the new album. Last but not least, El Gant is working on two albums, with executive production by J57 and DJ Premier. If that information doesn’t excite you as a Hip-Hop fan, nothing will.
There’s the article of Hip-Hop Kings introducing Jamo Gang, which we hope will be digested and referred to in the future as the start of something special. Enjoy the first moments by listening to “Here We Go Again” ft Big Twins below.
