Shady Records President Paul Rosenburg confirmed to Billboard.com this week that Eminem is “far into the process” of recording his untitled eighth studio album. He also noted “We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013. He’s been working on it for some time. It’s safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we’re not exactly sure when. We’ve got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we’re trying to see what else lines up.”
Paul and Shady have a lot on deck in 2013 with Yelawolf’s sophomore album and 50 Cent’s “Street King Immortal”, both expected to be out in the first half of this year, so lets hope everything lives up to expectations!

This year is potentially the biggest line up of SXSW, with the likes of 2DopeBoyz promoting and the U.K’s Hip Hop Chronicle covering the event. We have a live video thanks to Q Hefna of Yelawolf‘s performance at the Ruby Hornet Closed Sessions SXSW. Yelawolf of course has recently been signed to Shady Records along with Slaughterhouse, and I’m keen to hear more music from him in the near future. You can watch the Yelawolf performance at SXSW on the video player below.
The Hip-Hop world knows that Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Royce Da 5’9, Crooked I and Joell Ortiz) have signed with Aftermath / Shady Records in one of the most exciting deals in recent history. Quoted from Joe Budden himself, “the deal took a little over a year” and the four members of Slaughterhouse have the same common goals as Eminem for 2011. Slaughterhouse have three separate managers which is the likely reason the deal took so long, however each artist to speak on the deal is putting a positive spin on the situation, stating it’s the “label we wanted to be with back in 2008”. Be on the look-out for some Slaughterhouse leaks in the forthcoming months, along with a new album to be released in 2011. You can buy Slaughterhouse’s début album “Slaughterhouse” on the Amazon link below, and you can also view the other Hip-Hop Album Releases 2011 on the link below.
