There aren’t a lot of rappers that can claim to have sold out two venues in a matter of days, a feat usually reserved for heavyweights of the hip hop world, but Joey Badass and his Pro Era collective have been making massive waves in the hip hop world in previous months.
Despite being only 17, Joey Badass took to the stage like he had been doing it for years. Joey’s chilled flow was given some verbal energy from CJ Fly and Kirk Knight with lesser known members of the group keeping the crowd hyped. He and Pro Era kept the party like atmosphere going for over 90 minutes and brought the gig to an end with an impromptu freestyle and a second helping of ‘Survival Tactics. Their stage presence was one I can only compare to that of the Wu Tang Clan which is hardly surprising considering their ‘golden era’ sound and size of the collective.
Recently being co-signed by RZA of the Wu Tang Clan only affirms the talent that this group have. The Pro Era mix tape, announced for December 21st, is definitely one to look out for and will hopefully see some production from RZA. With the massive success of their, albeit small, UK live debut, I wouldn’t bet against seeing Pro Era in the UK again very soon.

This is the brand new video from U.K Hip-Hop MC S Kalibre for his single “R.I.P”. S Kalibre has teamed up with SlapUpMill who produced the single, which is not featured on the latest E.P “Smoke Screen” which was recently released as a “name your own price” project where fans can donate as much as they’d like, or opt to get the E.P for free. Smoke Screen features four new tracks, which includes a collaboration with Frisko Dan. My favourite track from the Slaughterhouse “Welcome to OUR House” album has been released in video format, queue the brand new visual for “Goodbye”. The Slaughterhouse album has mixed ratings from fans following the mixtape, with critiques either raving or raging when speaking on the album release, and fans can continue to download from the link listed above. Joe Budden has announced he’ll be releasing solo material as previously reported by Hip-Hop Kings, however no information has surfaced regarding the other members and their individual plans for solo material.
