UK heavyweight Genesis Elijah has recorded a “Warm Up Session” for SBTV which has quickly made its way around the Internet. SBTV are infamous for broadcasting their Warm Up Sessions and F64′s, and it’s fair to say Genesis Elijah should have been featured a LONG time ago. Genesis Elijah is having a very busy 2012, with a number of well received singles and videos being constantly shared and spoken about across the social media world and blogosphere, he’s regarded as one of the most consistent and respected MC’s in the scene at the moment. Spitfire made his debut on Hip-Hop Kings on the “Top 10 Jubilee Blog Post” with his video to the single “Slow Dance with Satan” and I’d like to share the latest single titled “Dr Graham”. This is the first official track from Spitfire’s forthcoming album (more details coming soon) and gives fans a great insight of what to expect from the rest of the project. I haven’t heard from Kardinal Offishall in a long time, but I did want to share the latest project which is a fourteen-track album titled ANTRIM ((Allow Me To Re-Introduce Myself)) which has been made available as a free download. The URL points to “Live and Die Wrecked .Com” where fans can grab the fourteen track album as a free download, which features Nottz amongst others. Making his debut on Hip-Hop Kings is Sheffield based Hip-Hop artist/actor Smokey Roomz, and he’s teamed up with Medlei for their collaborative single “Inna Killa”. The video credits go to TMI, and the single is featured on Smokey Roomz’s free EP “Phoenix E.P” which has been made available as a free download to fans on the link listed above. The Phoenix E.P also features guest appearances from the likes of Lady Leshurr and Rid-1 amongst others, and Smokey Roomz’s appearance on Tim Westwood’s BBC Radio 1xtra show has helped his profile massively. In it’s 28th successive year, July 20th will be the date for the DMC UK DJ Final of 2012, and presented by Rane and Serato is promised to be one of the best events of the year. Hosted by Inja, the likes of DJ Switch and DJ Nelson will compete head-to-head, and familiar names such as Fliptrix and Verb T will be performing as “The Four Owls” for the event too. Heats have taken place around the world, from Brazil to Tokyo, July 20th will be the showcase of the finest DJ’s this year. After a successful implantation of Serato which at first proved a major talking point amongst fans and insiders, the level is expected to rise and new boundaries are to be set for forthcoming years. Following in the popular RapperTagUK series, number 15 is an excellent offering from London-based Yungun. Tagged in by The Peoples Army rapper Smoggy (see number 14 here), Yungun breaks the rules of Rapper Tag and immediately brings a guest to deliver a verse too. Many fans have said it’s the best in series so far, which is expected to stretch right through 2012 and possibly into next year as well.
